Ozzy Is Not That Bad

Friday, August 29th, 2008

22–years old Jack Osbourne, (a son of Ozzy Osbourne) is planning to make a documentary about his father, said New Musical Express. The movie is already called “John” – the real Ozzy’s name.  Following Jack’s words, he decied to do it because of a negative image that haunts Ozzy in the media. “My dad’s not an idiot – he’s nothing short of a genius. He does have huge flaws, and we’re trying to really paing an honest picture of that,” he added. Jack also thinks that the MTV reality show “The Osbournes” had damaged his father’s reputation even more. Besides Ozzy, the movie shall contain some stories about his collegues from Black Sabbath, possibly lots of interviews and footages. A documentary should be presented at the annual Ozzfest show in 2009.

Snoop Dogg Shall Get In

Wednesday, August 27th, 2008

Austrialian authorities have finally gave an entry visa to the infamous American rapper Snoop Dogg (real name Cordozar Calvin Broadus Jr.,), said Reuters. A musician was not able to get Australian visa since April 2007, where he was planning to be the host at the MTV Australia Video Music Awards. The reason for not allowing this talented musician get inside the country was based on his criminal past. On August 26 this entry ban was lifted, but there will be some special right possessed by the local authorities to look after him everywhere and check his behaviour. In October Snoop should give a few joint concerts together with another infamous rapper Ice Cube.

Recently, Snoop Dogg is trying to brake the ganster image in order to prove that many bad things just arise from his turbulent LA past. One of the best things that shaped his legal outlook to the better was his presence at the reality show “Snoop Dogg Fatherhood”.

Led Zeppelin Is About To Write New Songs

Wednesday, August 27th, 2008

Led Zeppelin’s legends guitarist Jimmy Page and bassist John Paul Johns are working on the new project together with Jason Bonham, who is a son of the band’s long time gone drummer John Bonham, said The Guardian. Following Bonham’s words they’ve already met together for rehearsals and joint songwriting, which may end up in the new album. Young Bonham had left the band “Foreigner” were he was participating for the sake of playing music with his father’s buddies. Besides all of that, Led Zeppelin’s vocalist Robert Plant is still not participating in this awesome music project.

Led Zeppelin, which fell apart in 1980 with the death of John Bonham have reunited with John Bonham’s son during the last December in London. This event turned to be one of the biggest things in the music world. After this unexpected return many people believed that Led Zeppelin is about to begin their new world tour, but Robert Plant had denied this idea. Right now he is touring with the country singer Alison Krauss in support of their joint album, and possibly soon there will be another work produced by these two musicians. Robert is definitely setting Led Zeppelin aside.

Tuesday, August 26th, 2008

Famous hard-rock musician Alice Cooper had recorded the Christmas song called “Santa Claus Is Coming To Town”, said undercover.com.au. This composition will be the part of “We Wish You A Metal Christmas” collection that must be released on December 25, 2008. The variety of old hard rock legends make it funny and interesting again. Seems like it will be another sarcastic and talented metal work made by the best heavy rock musicians.

This is the list of artists who took part in recording of this collection: Lemmy Kilmister from “Motorhead”, Tony Iommi of “Black Sabbath”, Steve Morse from “Deep Purple”, ex “Black Sabbath” vocalist James  Dio, Joe Lynn Turner who previously sang in “Deep Purple” and “Rainbow”, and other famous musicians.

Tuesday, August 26th, 2008

Legendary Metallica won the honourable Hall of Fame Award from the British rock n’ roll magazine Kerrang! on August 22. Listeners gave this band a standing ovation, said The Telegraph. Even after all kinds of trouble and a lack of new albums in almost six years this group is still moving on. Simply unstopable… “We are very, very appreciative of all the love we feel around us,” said the band’s singer James Hetfield.

Rage Against The Machine (playing in rapcore style) also had received the Hall of Fame status, which was previously given to the bands like Judas Priest and AC/DC. The new-metal band Slipknot was honoured by the ‘Ikon’ award. Jimmy Page Goes To Beijing

Friday, August 22nd, 2008

Legendary Jimmy Page (Led Zeppelin’s guitar player) and the British singer Leona Lewis will take part in the Beijing Olympics closing ceremony that will occur on August 24. They will perform Led Zeppelin’s 1969 “Whole Lotta Love”, said Gigwise. Legendary stuff never dies, unites cultures and recalls memories of the past. Who else can do this better anyway?

Also, this ceremony shall be spiced by the presence of the English football star David Beckham. He will arrive at the stadium on the traditional London-like red tourist bus. Such participation on the side of the British stars and legends is going to symbolize the upcoming summer Olympic games that will take place in London (2012).

Manic Street Preachers Move It On

Thursday, August 21st, 2008

The British rock-band Manic Street Preachers is ready to start recording their new album, said New Musical Express. The band’s leader Nicky Wire had noted that they’re about to rent a studio by the end of September. “I can’t really talk about it at the moment, but as far as we’re concerned, it’s booked and we’re going in to start recording properly around then,” he added. Musicians simply can’t wait to start working. Some of the material was already recorded prior to these statements and should be definitely used in the upcoming release. Band members keep on saying that the new song’s structure will be similar to that of “The Holy Bible” (1994 release).

The new album shall be their ninth studio work. The previous one “Send Away The Tigers” was released last year and reached number two in the British hit charts.

U2

Wednesday, August 20th, 2008

Some uncareful moves made by U2’s leader Bono led to the information leakage about the band’s new album, said The First Post. Bono was playing new tracks so loud in his house in France that fans were able to get close and secretly record it. Soon after this, four new songs including “No Line on the Horizon” and “Sexy Boots” have appeared on YouTube. The new stuff stayed online for twenty four hours until it was removed by the administration due to the copyright violation.

However, as it was said by Undercover, fans took their time to learn and memorize new songs while putting their versions on the Internet as well. At least it can show some hints about the new album. The official release is planned on November 14, 2008, but it’s name is still not revealed (except some really loud sounds coming from Bono’s house). Journalists are already making predictions and speculations about the name by calling it – “No Line on the Horizon” because U2’s record label had recently registered the domain with the same title. Is this another info leakage?

AC/DC

Tuesday, August 19th, 2008

AC/DC is going to release the first studio album in eight years. Finally, they’ve announced the album’s name – “Black Ice”, said Roadrunner.com. The official release is planned on October 20. Also, the whole track-list will include fifteen songs. Every fan is probably waiting for another fifteen hits right now. On August 28 everybody should hear the first single, which is called “Rock N’ Roll Train”. This band is quite famous for their specific talent to make hits out of almost every song on the album. “Back To Black” was totally one huge hit. AC/DC reminds of the unstopable train that cannot change, cannot slow down, except of always going further.

Previously, it was rumoured that the next AC/DC’s album will be called “Strap It On”, but later this information was denied by the band. The following October shall be marked with their intensive touring activity dedicated to the release. “Like all excited fans of AC/DC, we can hardly wait for the launch of this album and all that will surround it,” noted Wal Mart’s vice president Gary Severson. He also added, “We promise there will be a multitude of opportunities for fans of all ages to get involved and ‘rock again’ as we count down to October 20.”

Phil Collins Will Have To Pay

Monday, August 18th, 2008

Former Genesis vocalist Phil Collins will have to pay twenty five million pounds (50 million dollars) to his ex-wife, said The Telegraph. Things of this sort seem to be so common these days that they don’t even spark a lot of attention anymore. Huge wedding, troublesome celebrity life and big transactions in the end.

Fifty-seven years old Collins must pay these money to thirty-four years old Swiss Orianne Cevey way more than Sir Paul McCartney has paid to his ex-wife Heather Mills. McCartney-Mills deal was the longest and financially the biggest case of this type in the British legal history. Collins-Cevey situation turns to be way higher.

Totally, Collins and Cevey stayed together for twelve years, seven out of which in marriage.  When they’ve met she was just twenty-two years old working somewhere as an interpreter, Collins was married for the second time. Right now this couple has two children – Nicolas and Matthew. In 1994 Phil had paid seventeen million pounds to his second wife Jill Tavelman. Unlucky fellow it seems… Eventually it turns out that he gave one third of his 140 million pounds ‘pocket’ to his former wifes.
