Heaven And Hell Comes Back

Thursday, February 12th, 2009

Members of the legendary British band Black Sabbath are going to release the album, which was recorded without Ozzy Osbourne, said Reuters. Heaven and Hell project that was put together in 2006 by Tony Iommi, Geezer Butler, Vinny Appice, and an ex-Black Sabbath vocalist Ronnie James Dio made it possible to produce a record called “The Devil You Know”. In reality this is not something totally new for this group because they’ve already stayed without Ozzy for many years back in 1980’s while producing numerous cool records. Eventually guys have decided to practice their previous ways with another vocalist, who in many people’s opinion helped Black Sabbath to make not less classic albums than with Ozzy. Heaven and Hell is going to be the second release with the same name since 1980, and it’s ‘going out day’ is set for April 28, 2009. The album shall include such songs as “Bible Black,” “Rock & Roll Angel,” “Breaking Into Heaven,” “Atom & Evil” and “Eating the Cannibals.”

In 2007 Ozzy Osbourne’s collegues have released CD-version of “Live from Radio City Music Hall”, and later the great DVD with this New York concert. Let’s see what kind of music these kings of metal will bring to us this time. It should be heavy and powerful.

Another Major Tour

Wednesday, February 11th, 2009

Metallica’s lead guitarist and singer James Hetfield is thinking about repeating his band’s successful 1988’s American tour, but this time in Europe, said Reuters. Practically, Metallica in the 1980’s was known for it’s powerful and extremely popular live show programs that made it famous before MTV even heard of them. Back in 1988 together with Van Halen and Scorpions they’ve organised thirty concerts. Each concert lasted for ten hours turning it into a huge live spectacles, which eventually gave them an incredible fame. Playing live was their key to success, something people don’t really see nowdays among numerous new bands because plastic, digital and generally speaking more commercialised ways of entertaining destroy live presentation. Today Metallica is one of the most popular rock bands, legendary and unstoppable shall tour Europe together with Linkin Park and Slipknot within “Sonisphere” concert program.

This tour will start in Holland’s Nijmegen on June 20 this year and should continue in Germany, Spain, Sweeden and Finland. The last show of this grand tour is going to take place in England. The only problem with it is that the band is constantly avoiding Eastern Europe, Greece and former Yugoslavia, even though that part of Europe may be way more into their music.

No Time For Paris

Tuesday, February 10th, 2009

Recently, Paris Hilton had asked Paul McCartney to make a joint music record, notes The Sun. On February 8 she has talked with an ex-Beatle in Los Angeles right after the Grammy ceremony, but it seems that Sir Paul did not get very interested in it.

Hilton made the direct proposal by saying that she is also dealing with music and would like to sing together with him. People can only imagine what she was thinking at the moment and of course what kind of ‘power’ was used, but it did not work. McCartney declined this proposal, and noted that currently he is extremely busy with his other music projects. So, he’s got no time for Paris. Just imagine for a moment what kind of music void is dividing these two people? Definitely, she did not have any serious plans to deal with him on the music level, or at least on the level of creating equal art. Maybe she wanted to get him onto her ‘winning’ list? Who knows anyway… One of the witnesses said that, “Sir Paul was minding his own business when Paris traipsed right up to him and introduced herself. He looked bemused, smiled and nodded – then stumbled out that he’d have to check his schedule.” Unbelievable and funny.

What Happened To Rihanna?

Monday, February 9th, 2009

Popular singer Rihanna did not perform at the Grammy Awards ceremony, and the most itchy part about it is that she had announced it only one hour before an event, said Associated Press.

Almost right before the show it came out that Rihanna’s boyfriend singer Chris Brown who was also nominated (and had to sing) for this award, presumably has assaulted a woman, and all of it may be connected to Rihanna. Definitely it turned out to be the biggest and the only reason for cancellations of their performances. Was she directly involved in anything what is going on around Brown is not known for certain so far. As police says, on Saturday (February 7) Brown was driving with an unknown woman heading for Hancock-Park in LA. When they got out of his car both began to argue and eventually ended up in fighting, so currently, he is accused of a felony. Brown’s representative didn’t comment anything yet, but it is already known that he is out on 50,000 dollars bail. Everybody wants to know Rihanna’s role in this pretty nasty incident.

On Grammys ceremony he was supposed to perform “Forever”, and Rihanna had to come out with “Live Your Life/Disturbia”. Her act was staged right after U2, which opened the ceremony.

Hotels, Concerts And U2

Friday, February 6th, 2009

Hotel prices in Dublin are currently on the rise due to an upcoming U2 concert, said Belfast Telegraph. For example, during three days from July 24 to July 26 when U2 is going to play in Dublin the prices at Jurys Hotel, which usually stay at 299 euros per night, will jump up to 900 euros. Jurys is located right next to the Croce Park were the band is about to perform. Despite the price escalation U2 fans have already reserved eighty five percent of all Dublin suites, and it is also expected that nearly eighty two thousand people are planning to visit that city to see the band. Local hotel owners believe that they may not be able to take everyone, even after doubling and tripling the prices. Therefore, the cost shall keep on rising no matter what, but will it stop U2 fans from going there? Definitely not. It’s interesting that U2 musicians are owning some hotel business in Dublin, and right now they’re investing money into another construction project. Members of the band are planning to spend 235 million dollars on reconstructing an old builidng in the historical part of the city. This project was developed by the British architect Norman Foster.

No Faces, Only Stones

Thursday, February 5th, 2009

The Rolling Stones are planning to start the first world tour since 2006, said Gigwise. Following the information given by this source, the band had decided to do such a massive thing right after they’ve found that Rod Stewart will not reunite The Faces. Practically, one of The Rolling Stones’ guys Ronnie Wood used to play in there from 1969 to 1975. By the end of 2008 there was a rumour which kept on saying that The Faces are going to come back. However, all this stuff was disaproved by Stewart, and right now it means only one thing – The Rolling Stones! So, Wood will not be involved in any kinds of work with The Faces or Stewart and will totally get absorbed by his number one group. Also, ContactMusic believes that Ronnie Wood terribly needs money in order to cover his horrible divorce expanses. Recently, he has left his wife and started the brain crashing romance with a twenty years old waitress Katya Ivanova.

The Rolling Stones guitarist Keith Richards even kept on convincing Wood to do this tour, not only to fix his financial problems, but also to get away from his personal and heart breaking issues. Gigwise notes that all The Rolling Stones musicians are in a good physical shape and they surely can make another world tour.

No Break For Kaiser Chiefs

Wednesday, February 4th, 2009

British band Kaiser Chiefs had decided to take a break in order to stay away from making music in any shape or form, said ContactMusic. This sad result was literally forced upon them due to a terrible dissatisfaction with their last single “Good Days Bad Days”, which failed to appear on the national music charts – top one hundred. It is curious because this release was produced by Mark Ronson himself. He had previously co-worked with Amy Winehouse (“Rehab”, “You Know I’m Not Good”, “Back to Black”), Lilly Allen (“Little Things”) and Robbie Williams (”Lovelight”). Mark never fails, but this time either because of bad management or just some natural artistic glitch Kaiser’s single didn’t get to the right place. Things happen… In one of the recent interviews Kaiser Chiefs told the press that they’re not planning to release any new singles from their last studio album “Off With Their Heads”, which came out in October 2008 conquering number two on the British hits chart. The first single “Never Miss a Beat” was released two weeks before the album, and turned to be quite successful.

However, many sources speak about the fact that Kaiser Chiefs are actually not going to move out from the stage. “It’s certainly not the end of the road for the band. They want to come back better than ever,” one of them said.

Take That Wrote The Best Songs

Tuesday, February 3rd, 2009

Recently one of Take That’s artists Gary Barlow was proclaimed to be the best British songwriter, said Monsters & Critics. Seriously, this statement looks a little big vague and unusual because otherwise groups like Pink Floyd or The Beatles will have to move out before Barlow, so it’s definitely not fair, and incorrect. Such results were taken by Onepoll after asking and talking to three thousand music lovers. Nowdays Barlow, who is obviously not without a talent, is considered to be one of the most successful authors-performers of the 1990’s. Songs like “Pray”, “Back for Good”, “Patience” turned Take That into a pop music sensation of it’s time. Besides Take That, he used to write for Atomic Kitten, Blue, Charlotte Church and others. Barlow’s efforts did not go unnoticed, he received five Ivor Novello awards, which are specifically made up for the best songwriters.

Polls have shown that Gary Barlow had pushed John Lennon and Paul McCartney onto the second and third places. Still, it sounds quite unbelievable. However, this is not the first time when Take That goes number one instead of The Beatles. In 2008 they were proclaimed to be the greatest ‘boys band’ in the history of show business, leaving legendary ‘Liverpool four’ behind themselves.

Bruce The First

Monday, February 2nd, 2009

Bruce Springsteen’s new album “Working on a Dream” reached number one on the British hits chart, said Digital Spy. This result was achieved only after the first week of sales, and it’s going to be his seventh success of this kind in the United Kingdom. Bruce was always quite popular in Britain, so all these statistics only prove it once again. Another new thing of this music week is Franz Ferdinand’s “Tonight: Franz Ferdinand”, which surprisingly to many fans has lost to Springsteen. “Only by the Night” by Kings Of Leon went to number three. Practically, the old faces and the same music agenda holds all these first spots without giving in. Hits parade which was formed exclusively with the new singles also turned to be very predictable. Lilly Allen’s “The Fear” went first, Lady GaGa (leader of the last week) took number two, and Kid Cudi vs. Crookers with their “Day ‘N’ Nite” retreated a little bit by going to number three.

The new leader of the British hits chart had performed at the Tampa stadium last night during the American Superbowl finale. Springsteen has played his old songs like “10th Avenue Freeze Out”, “Born To Run” and “Glory Days”. “Working on a Dream” was respected as well at the end of the show.
