More Rumours On Tyler

Thursday, November 12th, 2009

Aerosmith vocalist Steven Tyler is actually planning to leave the band for a few years, said Associated Press relating this news to guitarist Joe Perry. Basically, Tyler did not really come out to explain what’s going on with him, but it turned out that he is not leaving the band; he just wants something else. “As it stands, Steven wants to take a couple years off and do some of whatever he wants to do and the rest of the band wants to keep working,” noted Perry. In his talks to AP, Joe Perry had also underlined that during the recent years Steven Tyler began to separate himself from the band. He was not interested in the band’s life, and almost did not communicate with Perry for a few years. Tyler did not comment anything on Perry’s words and did not approve that he trully wants to leave Aerosmith. On November 10, Steven Tyler had participated at the Joe Perry Project performance; Joe Perry’s solo thing. He walked onto stage during the last minutes of the show and said that he has no plans to leave Aerosmith. Right after that, Joe Perry Project had performed Aerosmth’s legendary hit “Walk This Way” together with Tyler.

Is It Really For Everyone?

Wednesday, November 11th, 2009

German authorities have decided to ban public demonstration of the new Rammstein album cover – “Liebe ist Für Alle Da”, said Billboard. State committee which is studying audio-visual information and it’s influence on youth will not permit the album cover because it may allow bad reflection on young listeners. According to them, it shows and possibly provokes sadomasochism and violence. Picture shows naked woman surrounded by Rammstein members and nearby standing Till Lindemann (band’s vocalist) who’s holding a knife very close to her arm. Therefore, the album is not going to be spread and advertised like it was planned before; it’s going to come out today, on November 11. Basically, it all means that the album is going to be removed from the public view and will be sold only to those who has valid ID. Previously, Rammstein did not experience any problems with authorities, but now they went a little bit further than before. Also, the video for a new single “Pussy” was seen as something shattering, but it’s not banned yet. A song “Ich tue Dir weh” was classified as ‘offensive’ and thus Rammstein will not be able to perform it live. The band itself did not comment anything on their country’s legal decisions against their art, but surely they will say something in the near future.

Iggy Pop Will Release Some Old Stuff

Tuesday, November 10th, 2009

The Stooges vocalist Iggy Pop had decided to record and release a few songs from his band’s early period. As ContactMusic notes, tracks that are going to be selected were originally written way back in the 1970’s. Most critics and fans believe that they’re not so different from those which came out during The Stooges’ early years, but are still quite interesting; no one heard of them for decades except hardcore fans. This is the case of another typical factor, none of these songs was released, but they should be known to some because The Stooges had performed them live. What particular songs should be released is not very well known; Pop did not mention their names so far. However, he said that he and his The Stooges collegue James Williamson are going to close themselves up in the studio very soon in order to make all these plans come into reality. “I snuck in first, it started about ten years ago, and The Stooges are knocking on the door now. They’re putting us in in-flight magazines and what have you, so we kinda bum rushed the thing and, I guess, here we are”, noticed Iggy. On November 2, during the Classic Rock Roll Of Honour ceremony Iggy Pop had received “the living Rock N’ Roll legend” award.

Did He Really Leave Them?

Monday, November 9th, 2009

Infamous Aerosmith vocalist Steven Tyler had left the band, so quickly and surprisingly. This news was first brought up by the band’s solo-guitarist Joe Perry in his interview to Las Vegas Sun. The last Aerosmith concert took place on November 1 in Abu Dhabi within the frames of the Formula One Grand Prix; since then Tyler just stopped talking to his collegues. Practically, there is no clear reason so far why he is acting in such manner. Following Perry’s words, he found some information about Tyler’s wishes to leave the band directly on the Internet. However, despite Steven’s strange behaviour, Perry believes that Aerosmith is going to stay together with Tyler or without him. New Musical Express notes that earlier this year Aerosmith’s rhythm-guitarist Brad Whitford had mentioned (in his interview to Classic Rock magazine) certain plans to replace Steven Tyler by another vocalist. Obvious problems began last year when the band had to cancel their tour due to Tyler’s trauma during the South Dakota concert. Also, he gave some remarks that he would like to dedicate himself to solo activities, even though Aerosmith is working to produce new album right now. In other words, Steven Tyler has something to do with himself and surely there are many “back door” secrets in the band.

Selling It For Cheap

Thursday, November 5th, 2009

EMI record label had started the legal action against the American music website Bluebeat.com, which was presumably selling The Beatles’ music for extremely cheap prices. Songs of the Liverpool “four” were sold for only twenty five cents per track; it also included recently released digitally enhanced anthology of their fourteen albums. It’s not known how much money EMI is going to ask from them, but as BBC News noticed, music files on the Bluebeat.com are way more cheap than in any other online music store. At the same time, they’re allowing visitors to listen for free samples even before anything gets downloaded. Until this time The Beatles music was not available on the Internet in any shape or form, legal or illegal. Previously, Paul McCartney was trying to promote it together with the iTunes Store, but EMI could not reach an agreement with the Apple, which controls The Beatles back-catalogue. Meanwhile, two companies had agreed to release the USB device in the shape of an apple, which is going to incorporate The Beatles’ fourtheen albums, documentaries and other related material. Also, only thirty thousand of such devices should be available, and they will go for two hundred pounds each.

Exposing AC/DC

Wednesday, November 4th, 2009

In Australia, the homeland of the legendary AC/DC, people will be able to see the exposition, which is going to be dedicated to the band’s heritage. It will be called “AC/DC Family Jewels” and should be located at the Melbourne Art Centre starting from November 7 this year until February 28, 2010. Within the frames of this expo, fans may take a look at all sorts of things that once belonged to the band members and were not seen before. Particularly, it includes clothing, musical instruments, various manuscripts (the original copies of their famous songs), rare posters, photographs and video/audio material. “There is little doubt that after 35 years on the world stage AC/DC are by far Australia’s most successful and influential performing artists. AC/DC Australia’s Family Jewels seeks to link the material history of the band to the experience of their music”, said Tim Fisher, expo’s organiser in his inverview to the Undercover. The entrance should be free. Previously, the Melbourne Art Centre was organising similar expositions in dedication to Kylie Minogue, Nick Cave and Peter Allen. In other words, it’s not Centre’s first experience to dedicate expositions to their country’s legends, so it should be quite interesting to visit.

Memoirs From O’Dell

Tuesday, November 3rd, 2009

Ex-employee of the Apple Records, Chris O’Dell had written a book about her relations with Bob Dylan, Mick Jagger, George Harrison and many other famous rock musicians, said The Daily Telegraph. O’Dell came to London from US just to get a work in Apple Records having only 100$ in her pocket. During all the time when she was working at the company O’Dell did not become famous, but did participate in recording of The Beatles’ “Hey Jude” (back vocals), was on the roof during the band’s famous 1969 concert and was on the The Rolling Stones’ “Exile On The Main Street” album cover. For a few months she lived in the same house with George Harrison and his wife Patty Boyd. She was a witness when Harrison told Ringo Starr that he is doing it with his wife Maureen. Ringo said, “Better you than someone I don’t know”. Later Harrison had dedicated a song to her called “Miss O’Dell”, which was included into his solo album “Living in the Material World”. Practically, this girl is one of those who gets into many secrets and stays very friendly with musicians, actors and generally speaking other famous people. Currently, her memoirs will have some interesting historical value.

New Album; Two More Songs

Monday, November 2nd, 2009

Boyzone is planning to release the new album in dedication to their dead vocalist Steven Gately. This information was given by the band members in an exclusive interview to Sky News. As Ronan Keating noted, Steven had time to record two songs for the album, so it’s going to be the last record on which it will be possible to hear him. Besides the fact that the public will hear the album in 2010, there is no other information at all. Thirty three years old Gately had died on October 10 on Mallorca due to some serious lung inflamation. His family calls it “tragic coincidence”, also disproving nasty rumours that it was the effect of alcohol abuse. He was buried on October 17 in Dublin; his homeland. Irish pop-group Boyzone was founded in 1993 and in certain time had experienced the world wide popularity; all it’s albums hit number one on the British charts. Eventually, they’ve sold twenty million copies, so this success speaks for itself. In 2000 the band fell apart, but in 2007 they’ve decided to reunite and performed at the number of concerts, however before Gately’s death there was no information on the release of anything new.
