Soundgarden Is Returning
American rock band Soundgarden is planning to re-start it’s touring activities in 2010 and the best part about this news is that it will be done in the original line-up. This information was brought up by the Billboard, which related it to a new record made up by the band’s vocalist Chris Cornell. This record can be seen on his Twitter blog. He did not mention any details, but just noted that the twelve years of silence are finally broken up. Surely, this period was not marked by the silence on the side of Cornell himself, he was involved in numerous solo projects, but now Soundgarden is coming back and this is the best part about it all. The same news is also located at the band’s official website, and at the same time the Billboard is saying that according to it’s different sources the band had received a lot of invitations to perform at the various American and international music festivals. However, neither Cornell nor his bandmates have commented on these issues. Soundgarden was formed in 1984 and became extremely popular in the early 90’s on the wake of the Seattle grunge wave along side with Nirvana, Alice in Chains and Pearl Jam. In 1997 the band had fallen apart and Cornell began to pursue his personal solo career by forming the band Audioslave; other Soundgarden members have also involved themselves in the similar solo projects.
