The British government is going to lift off limits that were imposed over the digital copying of music, noted Sky News. Eventually authorities had decided to revise the whole “archaic” system, which was imposed on the discussed process. Supporters of this reform believe that people who are copying music from CDs and DVDs for a long time (onto their computers or players) are actually living in totally different time in comparison to the copyright owners that keep on limiting them. Currently copying of the media content from  the original carriers is officially considered to be illegal, thus millions of people are regularly violating something without being afraid of the punishment. As the Daily Telegraph said, by allowing of the copying process, the government is hoping to bring millions of pounds by means of encouraging the release of the legal media services; in other words the whole trick of allowance is one big encouragement. Similar projects were already planned by such infamous corporations as Amazon and Google. Even though the law shall experience some radical changes, free spreading of movies and music over the Internet will remain illegal, these changes may touch only personal usage of the copied content. Critics of this reform are represented by two groups: one is saying that this new law is going against musicians  and their copyrights, others believe that this initiative is too late and can’t be effective whatsoever. Nevertheless, time will show what is about to happen next.
